A sense of fairness

“Why is it always the manager’s friends who gets to go to the US conferences?” In a Swedish study, Constanze Eib and her associates called attention to the importance of feeling that one has been treated fairly. Eib observes that employees’ personal lives and relationships begin to suffer when they feel they have been treated unfairly in the workplace. The perception of unfairness impinges on their thinking to such a degree that they cannot appreciate their time off – they feel worse while on the job and lose the ability to recuperate when at home.
