Why is it good to do the exercise?

Do you take time to review the decisions your team has made? When we keep working without reflecting on what worked (and what didn’t), we risk repeating the same mistakes—and we miss the chance to learn from what went well. Some even go so far as to define insanity as “doing the same thing over and over again while expecting different results.”

Organizational psychology researcher Udo Konradt and colleagues found something striking in a study of team decision-making: teams made more effective decisions when they were given time to reflect together on earlier choices. Shared reflection built a stronger common understanding of the team’s context, goals, and strategies—making it easier to learn from past successes.

Go through them and find ways to turn synchronous channels into asynchronous ones to include everyone in a hybrid setup. For example, could the morning meeting be replaced with a morning write-up? Discuss: which channels should be synchronous, and which should be asynchronous?
