How do you treat your colleagues?

It can be difficult to imagine how much it hurts to break your leg or burn yourself on the stove until you have experienced it yourself. The same applies to how much it hurts to be subjected to harassment in the workplace. In a study by researchers Sara Branch and Jane Murray, it was established that one of the reasons that harassment at work occurs is that individuals do not understand how badly their harassing behavior is experienced by the victims. Some of the most frequent harassing behaviors that occurred were inappropriate nicknames and withholding of information. All these behaviors were reported as harassment by the victims but not by those who were committing the acts.
