Why is it good to do the exercise?

Sometimes we sit in a meeting and hear a tirade of bunkum that we cannot fill with meaning. Our goals can have the same motivation-draining effect when they are not supported by a vision. This was shown by a 2005 study by research- ers Caroline Aubé and Vincent Rousseau. The researchers found that the working groups who have a strong shared idea that the goal they are working towards is meaningful are more helpful to each other. Therefore, these groups perform better than the groups who do not think the goal is that important.
