Why is it good to do the exercise?

With a phone in hand, the workday can start on the bus and needn’t end when you leave the office. Handy, right? Or is it? Occupational and organizational psychology researcher Christin Mellner has shown that smartphones are a key piece in how we cope with the blurred boundary between work and leisure. She found that people who rarely use their work phone during off-hours are better at switching off work thoughts than those who frequently check email after hours. That ability to mentally detach from work is, in turn, crucial for proper recovery.
